What
RoboMaster@Berkeley is an AI robotics team on campus competing in the DJI RoboMaster AI robot competition. Our responsibilities include designing a NUC mount for the robot, which is a stock model provided by DJI, as well as creating the field for the team to practice on.
How
Iterated on different CAD designs of the NUC mount based on force calculations based on the robot's and the NUC's mass. As for the manufacturing of the field, a lot of planning was conducted to determine what types of materials and their corresponding shapes would be purchased. In addition to that, we had to plan out how to fit the exact shapes and dimensions we needed onto the stock parts so that we could minimize waste.
