Jaro Fleet Technologies
Mechatronics Engineering Internship
Timeline: August 2022- December 2022
Location: Oakland, CA
Jaro Fleet Technologies is an electric truck charging startup where I was involved in early prototyping efforts for their first product. My responsibilities included:
● Assembled a robotic electric truck charger prototype to validate mechanical and mechatronic design concepts using various prototyping tools including FDM & SLA 3D printers and laser cutters; as well as machine shop equipment such as drill presses, bandsaws, miter saws and sheet metal brakes.
● Prototyped and debugged the charger’s low-voltage electronic circuit comprising microcontrollers, motors, and sensors to achieve a desired motion path.
● Collaborated on the design of a complex product assembly on Fusion 360 with a mechanical design engineer using master modeling CAD principles to speed up mechanical design work by 50%.
● Troubleshooted and unblocked technical risks in mechanical designs by prototyping test fixtures and conducting relevant experiments.
● Managed a Bill of Materials and Release template for the product prototype consisting of 200+ off-the-shelf and custom parts to track build progress over the course of the project timeline.
